A major road accident occurred in the Vaninsky district of the Khabarovsk Territory. Three people were killed and five injured in a two-car collision.

According to IA AmurMedia with reference to the Khabarovsk Territory State Traffic Inspectorate, according to preliminary data, on the morning of January 20, in the area of the 34th km of the Sovetskaya Gavan -Vanino highway, a Toyota Camry car skidded into a turn, after which it collided with a Toyota Prius car coming towards it.

As a result, the driver of the Toyota Camry and his two passengers died before the ambulance arrived. Five people who were in the Toyota Prius at the time of the accident suffered injuries of varying severity.

Traffic police officers, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, doctors and investigators continue to work at the site. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Travel is very difficult at the scene of the accident, the agency notes.

Earlier, on January 19, it was reported that accidents on the roads of the Moscow region had significantly decreased during the New Year holidays. The largest number of accidents was registered on January 2 and 7. According to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, the number of accidents decreased by 35% compared to the same period in 2025.
