China has received an invitation from the United States to join the "Peace Council" on Gas, created by American President Donald Trump. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun at a briefing on January 20.

"China has already received an invitation from the American side," RIA Novosti quoted the diplomat as saying.

However, he did not answer the question of whether the Chinese government would agree to join the organization being created by Washington.

Earlier, on January 14, the Axios portal reported that the United States had sent invitations to a number of states to join the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip. According to the portal, the first meeting within the council may take place as early as next week. Trump is expected to chair the meeting. On January 15, the American leader announced that the formation of the "Peace Council" had been completed. He also added that, in his opinion, this is the greatest and most prestigious council that has ever been created.

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on January 19 that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had received an invitation from the United States to join the "Peace Council" for the settlement of the Gaza Strip. He also said that the Russian side is currently studying this proposal in detail and hopes to contact the United States to clarify all the details.
