Fraudsters have started using a scheme in which they convince citizens of the need for a desk tax check of their income. This became known on January 20.

According to RIA Novosti, the attackers are calling citizens, claiming that they have undeclared income, which allegedly threatens with fines and the seizure of accounts. To be convincing, they give the real address of the tax office and the details of the "department employee," and then insist on immediate action.

Experts warn that real tax and banking authorities never require money or documents over the phone and advise you to personally contact the inspectorate or the bank in case of any suspicious calls.

Earlier, on January 6, it was reported that calls allegedly from banks demanding to urgently "resolve the issue" were fraudulent. Only face-to-face contact with the bank allows you to safely resolve problems and eliminate the risk of losing funds.
