Podolskaya named the conditions for receiving the maximum pregnancy allowance

To receive the maximum maternity allowance in 2026, a woman must earn from 2.225 million rubles in 2024 and from 2.759 million rubles in 2025. This was announced on January 20 by the expert of the Presidential Academy Tatiana Podolskaya.

"In order to receive the maximum payment with the standard number of sick days (140 days), earnings should amount to 2.225 million rubles or more in 2024, and 2.759 million rubles or more in 2025," Podolskaya told TASS.

She explained that the amount of the benefit is determined based on income for the last two years divided by 730 days, after which the amount received is multiplied by the number of sick days. The maximum payment for the birth of one child in the standard period is 955,836 rubles, for complicated or early childbirth — 1,065,074.4 rubles, for the birth of two or more children — 1,324,515.6 rubles.

Earlier, on January 7, it was reported that even after dismissal, an employee can receive sick leave if an illness or injury occurs within 30 days after termination of the employment contract. In this case, the payment falls on the last employer, provided that the employee did not start a new job during the illness. However, the payments do not apply to sick leave for the care of a child or a relative.
