The family tax payment, introduced in 2026 for low-income families with children, may later be expanded to other residents of Russia. This was announced on January 20 by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

"The plans are to see how the current payment works, analyze and come up with suggestions on how the practice of tax cashback could be extended to families with one child, to families without children, and simply to working citizens with low incomes," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.

According to Nilov, the payment may be increased in this case. This will solve the problem of obtaining an actual income below the minimum wage.
