Specialists of the municipal management complex will rehabilitate Borisovsky Pond in the south of Moscow. This was announced on Monday, January 19, by the deputy mayor of the capital, Peter Biryukov.

He noted that the reservoir, despite the developed infrastructure around it, is in poor condition due to significant silt deposits. As part of the work, it is planned to clean up four sections of the pond, removing more than 20 thousand cubic meters of silt, the Moscow City News agency reports.

According to him, the cleanup will take place without draining the reservoir — using a floating dredger, which will preserve the ecosystem. The sludge will be dewatered on a mobile installation and transported to specialized landfills, and the purified water will be returned to the pond. The mayor's office added that surveys of the capital's reservoirs are carried out regularly, and decisions on rehabilitation are made taking into account the appeals of residents, writes Moscow 24.
