A criminal case was opened into the death of two people from carbon monoxide in the Penza region. This was reported on January 19 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Penza region.
"A criminal case has been opened in the Serdobsky interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Penza region on the death of two people (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — "Causing death by negligence to two persons")," the message published on the Telegram channel says.
According to the investigation, the victims are two women aged 74 and 19 years. It is also reported about seven victims in the same house, who were later hospitalized for medical treatment.
Investigators and criminologists are investigating the circumstances of the incident. It is specified that as part of the investigation, special attention will be paid to the condition of the gas equipment in the apartments, as well as the conditions of its operation and maintenance.
Earlier that day, it became known about the death of two people in the Kolyshleisky district of the Penza region as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. It happened in a two-storey residential building with 16 apartments, located in the village of Kolyshley on Zheleznodorozhnaya Street. According to preliminary data, the cause of poisoning was the lack of draft in the chimney.
