The number of road accidents in Moscow decreased by 9% in a year
By the end of 2025, 9% fewer road accidents occurred in Moscow than a year earlier. The Metropolitan Department of Transport announced this in its Telegram channel on January 19.
The number of people killed in road accidents in the capital decreased by 15%, while the number of deaths of minors decreased immediately by 42%. The number of pedestrian collisions decreased by 13%, and collisions decreased by 6%.
In addition, the number of accidents involving minors decreased by 16%, collisions with obstacles and parked cars — by 11%, and vehicle rollovers — by 38%.
The Deptrans noted that positive results were achieved thanks to an integrated approach and close cooperation between the Data Center and the State Traffic Inspectorate. The list of measures includes the implementation of new projects to improve traffic conditions, monitoring of the situation by specialists from the Traffic Management Center (TSODD) and the installation of photo and video recording systems.
On January 9, amendments to the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation came into force in the Russian Federation, which established new sanctions for violations of safety rules when transporting children. Now the imposition of an administrative fine on the driver will amount to 5 thousand rubles (previously - 3 thousand rubles); on officials — 50 thousand rubles (previously — 25 thousand rubles); on legal entities — 200 thousand rubles (previously — 100 thousand rubles).
