It became known about Trump's lawsuit against California due to rising egg prices
Last July, US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against the state of California because of the law in force there, which allegedly affects the cost of eggs in the country - a hearing in this case is scheduled for February 23. The relevant court materials attest to this on January 19.
So, according to documents reviewed by RIA Novosti, representatives of the office of the head of the White House and three organizations — the Center for a Humane Economy, Animal Wellness Action and the California Egg Producers Association — will meet on the designated day in court to consider the case of the law called Proposition 12, which, according to the accusing party, forces all American farmers to invest large sums of money in reducing the number of chicken coops.
According to Washington, this decree increases the cost of eggs and accelerates food inflation, so its suspension could stop the price increase for a number of poultry products, including eggs.
On January 10, Reuters learned that the Trump administration had been sued by five American states at once. They demanded that the office of the head of their state allocate them over $10 billion from federal funds to help children and families. This amount was, as noted, frozen by the White House due to concerns about fraud in their state social security systems. Then, in addition to California, the plaintiffs were such states as Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota and New York.
