Drone operators thwarted the Ukrainian Armed Forces counterattack in the Zaporizhia region

The operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the troops of the unmanned systems (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of the Vostok group of forces disrupted the counterattack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was announced on January 19 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the agency, during the reconnaissance, the activity of the enemy was recorded by UAV calculations in the area of the village of Zaliznichnoye. It is specified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in armored vehicles tried to invisibly move out of the concentration area and launch a counterattack in the direction of Gulyai-Pole, taking advantage of the weather conditions.

The dislocations of enemy targets were transferred to the calculations of the BPS of the Vostok group of forces, after which the drone operators promptly eliminated the enemy's vehicles, as well as the M1117 armored personnel carrier, the Kozak armored personnel carrier and several Novator armored personnel carriers. It is noted that the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine formations, who tried to escape after destroying the vehicles, were overtaken by the operators in the forest belts.

Due to the timely detection of enemy force movements by the Vostok units, attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to counterattack the Russian Armed Forces units in this area were thwarted.

On January 18, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that calculations of the Gvozdika self-propelled artillery installations of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the control points of the UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye region. According to the agency, during aerial reconnaissance, camouflaged enemy positions of reconnaissance UAV operators were discovered in the forest belts. After clarifying the coordinates, data on the enemy's location was transferred to artillery units, which eliminated enemy targets with 122-millimeter cannon fire.
