This was announced on January 19 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Realizing that the drone was threatening the personnel, he immediately ordered the group to take cover, while he stayed behind to track down the copter. After a while, the FPV drone that found the junior sergeant was directed by the Ukrainian operator directly at the Russian fighter, who in turn opened fire with small arms and destroyed the drone that detonated in the air. Sukhoveev, having assessed the situation and made sure that there was no repeated threat of attack, was able to successfully lead his group to the designated point.

The Ministry of Defense noted that thanks to the courage and professional actions of Senior Sergeant Alexei Sukhoveyev, he managed to complete the task of securing new positions without losses among the personnel.

The ministry also noted the actions of Private Alexei Leonov, who, while carrying out a combat mission to consolidate the Russian Armed Forces in a position liberated from Ukrainian militants, eliminated an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Quadcopter-type APU.

The object conducting reconnaissance and approaching the Russian units was identified by him during the retention and consolidation of the position. The private, remaining calm, immediately ordered the personnel to take cover, and then, taking a secretive position behind a tree, waited for the enemy copter to fly into the firing area, and shot it down with accurate shots from his personal weapon.

The Defense Ministry said that thanks to the brave and competent actions of Private Alexei Leonov, he managed to complete the task of securing new positions and thwarting the enemy's plans to conduct reconnaissance and determine the location of Russian troops.
