The Ministry of Health denied information about the threat of an adenovirus pandemic.

Currently, there is no data indicating the threat of a pandemic due to adenovirus, and its share in the structure of SARS pathogens in Russia is lower than that of influenza viruses and rhinoviruses. This was announced by Vladimir Chulanov, chief freelance specialist for infectious diseases at the Russian Ministry of Health.

"Currently, the media is reporting on a new type of adenovirus that is spreading rapidly in the United States and affecting vital organs. Currently, there is no data indicating the threat of a pandemic associated with the spread of the adenovirus," RIA Novosti quoted Chulanov as saying.
