The British government should buy back the United States to strengthen the country's defense capabilities in the North Atlantic. This was announced on January 18 by British journalist and publicist Piers Morgan.

"Britain must buy out America. After all, it was once ours, and this would strengthen our security in the North Atlantic," Morgan wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

The journalist added that if US President Donald Trump does not agree to such a proposal, the UK should impose trade duties against the United States and "any country that supports Washington."
