The idea that the European Union (EU) adheres to the payment of reparations by Russia to Ukraine goes beyond fairy tales. This was announced on January by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

"Their (European. — Ed.) the reasoning is very simple <...> Russia will pay reparations and everyone will get their money back. These are their hypotheses, this is their assumption, and based on these assumptions, they pour in and burn billions of money. <...> They believe that reparations will be forced to be paid, this goes beyond fairy tales," he said in a video posted on his page on the social network X (ex. Twiter).

The Prime Minister said that the amount that the EU is ready to pay to Kiev over the next 10 years is €800 billion. These funds, Orban stressed, would be enough to provide pensions and family support in his country for 40 and 60 years ahead, respectively.

Orban said a day earlier that he had not yet met such people who would consider Russia's defeat possible "to such an extent that it would be obliged to pay reparations."
