A person who is a Russian citizen can confirm his age in 17 ways, including identification through the Gosuslugi portal or the Max messenger. This was announced on Sunday, January 18, by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the public examination of draft laws and other regulations.

A Russian can prove his age in cases prescribed by Decree of the Government of Russia dated 09/19/2025 No. 1443, using digital documents that are attached to the Gosuslugi application, as well as using the functions available in the Max messenger. There is also a list of documents certifying the identity of their owner.

"The documents certifying the identity of a serviceman of the Russian Federation are: an identity card of a serviceman of the Russian Federation, a military ID of a soldier, a sailor, a sergeant, a sergeant major, an ensign and a midshipman; a personal electronic card, a certificate instead of a military ID. The document certifying the identity of a citizen of the Russian Federation for the period of passport registration is a temporary identity card of a citizen of the Russian Federation," Masharov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

People who do not have Russian citizenship — foreigners and refugees — can use, as the agency's interlocutor added, either their passports, documents recognized in accordance with an international treaty of the Russian Federation, or certificates confirming their refugee status.
