On January 17, the White House posted on the social network X a photo of US President Donald Trump with an unusual caption.

"Mr. Tariff," reads the caption to the photo.

The image is designed in black and white. In the photo, the American president in a suit rests his fists on the table in the Oval Office and stares sternly in front of him. The light from the window falls on his left hand.

On January 17, the American leader announced that the United States was imposing duties of 10% with the possibility of increasing up to 25% on a number of European countries due to the situation around Greenland. Starting from February 1, 2026, tariffs will apply to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Finland.
