A 12-year-old girl died in a fire at an outbuilding in the Moscow region.
In the village of Orlovo, located on the territory of the Moscow region, a fire broke out in an outbuilding, as a result of which a 12-year-old girl died. This was reported on January 17 in the press service of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.
"Information has been received about a fire in an outbuilding located on a plot in the village of Orlovo. A man and his two children were in the room at the time of the fire. As a result of the incident, a 12-year—old girl died," the ministry said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel.
It is specified that the man suffered burns to his hands as a result of the incident — he received medical assistance on the spot. The second child was not injured.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire, upon which a criminal case was opened in accordance with Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"), could be the emergency operation of electrical appliances. The text notes that representatives of the department, in cooperation with criminologists, will carry out the appointed forensic medical and fire-technical examinations.
On the same day, the Prosecutor's Office of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug reported the death of two men in a fire at an industrial base in Surgut. The victims were reported to be 38 and 59 years old, respectively. In addition, it was emphasized that upon the tragedy, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
