Zolotovitsky died on January 14 at the age of 65. The cause of the artist's death was cancer. The farewell ceremony for the People's Artist of the Russian Federation began on the morning of the same day at the Moscow Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. Relatives, friends and colleagues of the artist gathered in the theater to lay flowers and pay their last respects.
Relatives and friends of the artists, as well as many ordinary people, came to Zolotovitsky's funeral. The coffin with the artist was carried through the cemetery to the grave. Fans of Zolotovitsky's work brought bouquets of flowers to her.
Earlier in the day, Zolotovitsky's son Alexei spoke about his father's last words before his death during the farewell ceremony with the actor. According to him, when the resuscitator asked the artist about his well-being, he "looked intently" at the doctor and replied: "Wow!"
