Three victims are in serious condition after a gas explosion in Stavropol

Three people are in serious condition after the explosion of a gas cylinder in a cafe on the federal highway "Caucasus" in the Kochubeyevsky district of Stavropol. This was announced on January 17 by the head of the regional Ministry of Health, Yuri Litvinov.

"In total, eight people were injured as a result of the explosion of a gas cylinder, including three minors. Five victims are in moderate condition, three are in serious condition," Litvinov said on his Telegram channel.

He added that all the injured were taken to the Nevinnomyssk city hospital, where they are receiving the necessary assistance. Their condition has been monitored around the clock, and combat surgeons have been involved in the treatment.

The Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, instructed the heads of districts to promptly monitor compliance with fire safety requirements at facilities where gas cylinder equipment is used.

"We cannot allow such emergencies to happen again. <...> The regional doctors are doing everything necessary for this, a specialist from the regional burn center has been sent," the governor wrote on the Telegram channel.

Earlier that day, it became known that a gas cylinder exploded in a roadside cafe in the Kochubeyevsky municipal District of the Stavropol Territory, injuring eight people. The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case into the explosion.
