The "Peace Council" on the Gaza strip includes the special envoy of the head of the White House, Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, the son-in-law of the American leader, Jared Kushner, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the head of the World Bank Ajay Banga and the deputy National Security Adviser of the United States Robert Gabriel. The statement was published by the White House on its website on January 16.

It clarifies that each member of the Executive Board will be responsible for a specific set of strategic tasks critical to the stabilization and long-term development of Gaza.

These tasks include strengthening management capacity, developing regional ties, rehabilitation, attracting investments, as well as large-scale financing and capital mobilization.

On January 15, Trump announced that the formation of a "Peace Council" to govern the Gaza Strip had been completed. He also added that, in his opinion, this is the greatest and most prestigious council that has ever been created.

The Axios portal reported on January 14 that the United States had sent invitations to a number of states to join the "Peace Council" on the Gaza Strip. It was specified that the first meeting within the council could take place as early as next week. Trump is expected to chair the meeting.

Bloomberg reported on January 11 that Trump intends in the coming days to announce the composition of the "Peace Council" on Gaza, which should deal with the implementation of Washington's post-war plan and the maintenance of an unstable truce between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement. His tasks include the formation of an interim administration in Gaza, the involvement of international security forces and financing the reconstruction of the enclave.
