The State Duma reported on changes in the accrual of penalties for late payment of housing and communal services

With the onset of spring, Russians are waiting for changes in the rules for charging penalties for late payment of housing and communal services (housing and communal services) - so, from March 1, 2026, they will be charged from the 16th day of the month, which will follow the month when the citizen receives a receipt for payment. This was announced on January 17 by Vladimir Koshelev, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"If citizens have not paid for housing and communal services on time, that is, before the 15th day of the month, they will be charged penalties after the 31st day after the due date. In this case, starting on the 16th of next month," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
