The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched a project aimed at improving the infrastructure of several provinces of the Republic of Yemen. Under the agreement, 1.9 billion riyals ($506 million) will be spent. This was reported on January 14 by Al Arabiya TV channel.

"The Saudi program for the development and reconstruction of Yemen announced the launch of a new package of projects worth 1.9 billion riyals aimed at supporting infrastructure and basic services in a number of Yemeni governments, as part of the kingdom's efforts to ensure stability and improve the quality of life in Yemen," the article says.

The allocated funds, as specified, will be used for the reconstruction of the runway at Aden airport, which is planned to be equipped with navigation and communication systems; the resumption of work of large hospitals in a number of cities, as well as support for medical colleges, which will receive modern equipment.

The head of the governing Presidential Council of Yemen, Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, who arrived in Moscow on May 28, 2025, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for the support provided to the republic. He pointed to the breakthrough in interstate relations made in recent years and expressed the desire for Russia to continue to help Yemen in restoring peace and stability.
