Russian skiers Savely Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva will not participate in the classic sprint race at the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany. This was reported on January 16 by the newspaper Sport-Express.

It is specified that both skiers, who previously competed in the sprint disciplines at the World Cup, were not included in the starting qualification protocols. Korostelev and Nepryaeva have never passed the qualifying barrier to enter the elimination races.

On December 29, Korostelev took ninth place in the 10 km classic style race at the World Cup stage as part of the multi-day Tour de Ski in Toblach, Italy. This is the first time in an athlete's career to reach the top 10 at the World Cup. It was clarified that the athlete is a two-time world junior champion and a two-time Russian champion.

On January 4, Nepryaeva became the sixth in the mass start of the Tour de Ski in the 10 km freestyle. She covered the distance with a little more than an hour and four minutes behind the leader from Norway, Caroline Simpson-Larsen. In the overall standings, the Russian took 10th place.
