The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly recommended that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to Moldova whenever possible. This was announced on January 16 by the press service of the Ministry.

"Moscow continues to record numerous facts of discrimination, unjustified harassment and inappropriate treatment of Russian citizens entering the Republic of Moldova. <...> The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly recommends that Russian citizens take these risks into account and refrain from traveling if possible," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.
