The most common cars in the Russian taxi are named
The most common taxi car in Russia is the Hyundai Solaris, which accounts for 21% of all cars. On January 19, analysts of the AlfaStrakhovanie company told Izvestia about this, who studied the data of concluded CTP contracts for January-October last year.
Kia Rio is in second place with a 19% share. Thus, co-platform Solaris and Rio form about 40% of the Russian taxi fleet. The third place in the rating is occupied by Lada Granta (17%), followed by Volkswagen Polo (15%) and Renault Logan (10%).
Among Chinese cars, Haval Jolion is most often found in taxis, it ranks sixth in the overall rating (8%). Lada Vesta and Skoda Rapid are next (4% each). Two more Chinese models rounded out the top ten — JAC S7 and Kaiyi E5 (3% each). Last year, the top 10 models included Geely and Chery.
According to experts, Korean models still retain their leading positions, while European models, on the contrary, are leaving the rating. Three years ago, the share of Chinese cars in the taxi segment did not exceed 1%, and now the presence of Chinese brands is about 14%.
On December 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed amendments to the law on taxi localization. According to the amendments, for carriers who own a car for at least six months, the deadline for entry into force of the requirements for the localization level of the vehicle is postponed to January 1, 2033.
This condition applies when entering information about the car in the regional register of passenger taxis within the quota of 25% established for each region. Only individuals with self-employed status will be able to work on such vehicles.
