Czech President Pavel declared Kiev's readiness for painful concessions for peace
Ukraine will have to make serious concessions to resolve the conflict. This was stated on January 16 by Czech President Petr Pavel at a press conference with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
"I believe that there are several painful concessions that Ukraine must make and is ready to do so, provided that it leads to peace," the Czech leader said, as quoted by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" in his Telegram channel.
At the same time, Pavel did not specify which steps and compromises he had in mind.
On the same day, Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod said that many Ukrainians no longer worry about symbols and are ready to live under any flag, just to keep the peace. She also stated that everything must be done to end the conflict.
The day before, The New York Times (NYT) newspaper, citing Kiev lawyer Vladimir Dorodko, reported that many Ukrainian citizens are ready for territorial concessions under the peace agreement.
