During a working trip to the Republic of Crimea on January 16, Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, together with Sergey Aksenov, head of the region, assessed the pace of construction of municipal solid waste management facilities (MSW) within the framework of the Closed-Loop Economy federal project.

Crimea actively participated in the events of the Ecology national project. Some of them are continuing within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being", including the creation of waste management facilities in the Saki and Belogorsky districts, which were visited by the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the republic.

The construction of a municipal solid waste landfill and a waste sorting complex is being completed in the Belogorsky district. Its waste treatment capacity will amount to 500 thousand tons per year, which will allow it to receive more than 58% of all waste generated in the republic. Their reception and automated sorting will be carried out here.

In addition, the complex will allow the production of an alternative type of fuel from sorted and crushed combustible fractions of solid household and industrial waste. The organic waste at this facility will be disposed of in enclosed modules, which are concrete baths equipped with an automated ventilation system and a semi-permeable membrane. The company's share of domestic equipment is 80%.

A modern waste sorting complex with a capacity of 200 thousand tons per year is located in the Saki district. The facility allows receiving about 23.7% of all generated MSW on the territory of the republic. It is designed for receiving and sorting MSW, sampling and accumulating secondary material resources, composting the organic fraction — "screening" to obtain technical soil.

In general, it is planned to allocate about 26 billion rubles for the activities of the national project until 2030 in the republic. In addition to the direction of forming a closed-loop economy, funds are provided for the creation of reservoirs, clearing riverbeds, and preserving forests.

A day earlier, Patrushev visited the Krasnodar Territory on a working trip, where he inspected the Novorossiysk MSW landfill and the Kopanskaya waste recycling complex. During the subsequent meeting, Patrushev pointed out that in order to achieve the goal of forming a closed-loop economy in the Kuban in the coming years, 12 infrastructure facilities will have to be built. Their total waste treatment capacity should exceed 2 million tons per year, and 1 million tons for recycling.
