Going out on the ice of reservoirs was again allowed in the Pskov region
Starting from Friday, January 16, it is again allowed to go out on the ice of reservoirs in the Pskov region. Natalia Fedorova, the head of the district, announced the lifting of the ban on her page on the VKontakte social network.
The decision was made by the municipal emergency commission. The reason is the results of hydrological research. They showed that the thickness of the ice exceeds 17 cm, and the low air temperatures have become stable.
Nevertheless, the head of the district asked residents to show common sense and not to take unnecessary risks and not to neglect precautionary measures. In large bodies of water, there is still a risk of washouts, cracks, creases and other phenomena that are dangerous for humans to stay on the surface of the ice.
Fedorova noted that the lifting of the ban affected only hiking on the ice. It is still impossible to travel to the ice of reservoirs in unorganized places where there are no specially equipped ice crossings. Violators of the ban face administrative punishment, the Pskov News feed writes.
Earlier it was reported that in Novosibirsk, two schoolchildren fell through the ice while walking on the Ina River. One child was pulled out by eyewitnesses, the second boy was dragged under the ice by the current.
