Russian designer, entrepreneur and blogger Artemy Lebedev expressed a desire to change the appearance of the Moscow Kremlin by offering to repaint it in white. He announced this on January 16 in a news release available on the VKontakte social network.

"It must be done. Because historically it was white, it's much more beautiful than red," Lebedev reasoned.

The designer noted that in other Russian cities Kremlin walls are often made in white, pointing to the Kazan Kremlin as an example, which, in his opinion, looks especially impressive.

"We need to do the same in Moscow," he said.

Lebedev spoke out against the partial opening of the borders with Finland on November 21, 2025 — in his opinion, they should be fully opened, and other options should not be agreed. He also believes that the Finnish authorities should fully issue visas to Russians.
