An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred in the Mexican state of Guerrero. On January 16, the Reuters news agency reported with reference to the German Research Center for Geophysical Sciences (GFZ).

"According to the GFZ, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km," the article says.
