The Moscow Regional Court has confirmed the arrest of Anna Khobotova, the founder of a rehabilitation center in the Moscow region, where teenagers were bullied. This was reported to Izvestia in court on January 16.

It is noted that Khobotova was charged under paragraphs "g", "e" of part 2 of Article 117 ("Torture of minors by a group of persons"), part 3 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code ("Unlawful imprisonment)", paragraphs "a", "b" of part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services which do not meet safety requirements and have caused serious harm to health").

A criminal case was initiated on November 25 last year for the torture and detention of 24 teenagers in an illegal rehabilitation center. According to the investigation, psychologists were supposed to work with minors, but teenagers were beaten and tortured.

The Istra District Court arrested Khobotova on November 28. A case was opened against her under articles on intentional infliction of serious harm to health by a group of persons, torture of minors, provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, as well as unlawful imprisonment. Khobotova has pleaded not guilty.

A former employee of the institution, in turn, told Izvestia that one of the center's consultants had an intimate relationship with underage students.
