On January 16, the Moscow Arbitration Court began considering the claim of the Central Bank of Russia against the Belgian depository Euroclear for 18.2 trillion rubles.

On December 19, the Moscow Arbitration Court received a petition from the Central Bank to consider the case against Euroclear behind closed doors. The court had previously scheduled a preliminary court hearing for January 16, 2026 at 10:00 Moscow time based on the Central Bank's statement of claim.

On December 12, the central bank announced that it would file a claim for damages against Euroclear in the Moscow Arbitration Court. The Bank of Russia clarified that as a result of Euroclear's actions, the regulator lost the ability to dispose of its funds and securities.
