More than 76 thousand people remain without electricity in the Zaporizhia region due to the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on January 16 by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the region.

"As of 08:00 (09:00 Moscow time. On January 16, 76,141 disconnected consumers were recorded in the Zaporizhia region," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is clarified that the situation in the region remains tense due to the high activity of drones, which complicates emergency recovery operations. Emergency services also continue to work in an enhanced mode to restore power supply as quickly as possible.

According to the ministry, a complete power outage affected the settlements of Zelyony Guy, Podgornoye, Shirokoe, electricity was partially cut off in the settlements of Velikaya Znamenka, Novoe, as well as in the cities of Vasilyevka, Kamenka.‑Dneprovskaya, Berdyansk.

The day before, the Governor of the Zaporizhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, reported that more than 87 thousand consumers in the region were left without electricity due to the attack of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, blackouts occurred in Vasilyevsky, Kamensk-Dneprovsky, Mikhailovsky, Priazovsky, Primorsky and Tokmak municipal districts and in the city of Energodar.
