Car shipments from South Korea to Russia increased by 19%
Imports of cars from South Korea to Russia increased by about 19% in December 2025 compared to the same indicator in 2024. This was reported on January 16 by TASS with reference to data from the South Korean customs service.
According to the agency, in December 2025, South Korea sold $25.4 million worth of cars to Russia, while in December 2024 it sold $21.3 million.
The highest figure for the month was recorded in September last year — $149 million. October came in second place in terms of sales, with imports totaling $142 million. In the third quarter, November, shipments for it reached $107 million.
Last year, car imports from South Korea totaled $1.042 billion to Russia, with shipments reaching $588 million in 2024. Thus, the growth was 77.2%.
Earlier, on January 15, TASS, citing the press service of the Vladivostok customs, reported that by the end of 2025, 347.4 thousand foreign cars intended for personal use were processed through customs. It was noted that this is 28% more than a year earlier, when the volume amounted to 271.4 thousand units.
