A US Air Force fighter jet has disappeared off the coast of Japan
Fighter aircraft of the Air Force (VVS) On January 16, the US F-35A disappeared from radar screens in the area of the Japanese coast near the city of Aomori after transmitting a distress signal. This is evidenced by the data of the Flightradar24 service.
According to the resource, the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II aircraft followed from the northern part of the Sea of Japan, crossed the territory of Japan in an easterly direction south of Aomori, and then headed northeast. At about 06:09 Moscow time, the aircraft disappeared from radar.
Before disappearing, the fighter gave the 7700 code, which is used to indicate an emergency. Additional information about the causes of the accident and the fate of the crew has not been received at the moment.
The Daily Mail newspaper reported on December 29 that a Ryanair passenger plane en route from Birmingham to Tenerife was forced to turn around in the middle of the flight after an emergency, and panic broke out on board. One of the passengers described what was happening inside the liner as "a scene from a horror movie."
