TES learned about the EC's plans to use Ukraine's lending to its advantage

The European Commission (EC) intends to use Ukraine's lending to its advantage, dictating strict rules to Kiev. This was reported on January 14 by The European Conservative (TEC) magazine.

"Kiev will be allowed to purchase weapons outside Europe only as an exception. <...> The assistance is aimed at supporting the military efforts and at the same time strengthening the EU defense industry," the publication says.

It is noted that the EC uses Ukraine's dependence to impose "politically inconceivable" rules. In addition, to finance the loan, the European Union (EU) will be forced to turn to Eurobonds, transferring more power to Brussels and further restricting the freedom of national governments.

EC President Ursula von der Leyen said on January 14 that the European Parliament had approved a loan of €90 billion to Ukraine. She also stated that such significant funds should provide additional benefits for the EU, such as creating jobs and strengthening Europe's defense industry base.
