The State Duma gave recommendations on the rapid repayment of debts for housing and communal services

In order for Russians to repay the debt as soon as possible if they miss a payment for housing and communal services (housing and communal services), it is necessary to repay the debt to stop the growth of penalties, or contact the management company for installments. This was announced on January 16 by State Duma Deputy Alexander Yakubovsky.

"If the payment was missed, it is better to pay off the debt as soon as possible to stop the growth of penalties, or contact the management company for installments," he said in an interview with RT.

According to the deputy, a one-time or short-term delay is not critical and will not lead to serious consequences, however, he added that from the 31st to the 90th day of delay, penalties amount to 1/300 of the key rate of the Bank of Russia for each day, and from the 91st day - 1/130 of the key rate.

Yakubovsky stressed that it is possible to limit utilities only if they are in arrears for more than two months and only after mandatory written notification for at least 20 days.

On the same day, Vladimir Koshelev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing, said that in Russia, large families receive a 30% discount on housing and communal services, compensation for capital repairs, and full or partial exemption from maintenance fees. According to him, the regional authorities can expand these guarantees by increasing discount rates.
