Nutritionist Alla Makarova told how to turn a healthy diet into a lifestyle and forget about dieting.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, January 15, she called for a change from "dietary thinking" to a philosophy of consistency. The specialist noted that success does not depend on one-time attempts to lose weight. She stressed that diets, as a rule, do not give sustainable results.: weight returns, and strict restrictions can harm your health, exacerbating hidden diseases. According to her, especially after the age of 40, the body does not tolerate sharp fluctuations between overeating and hunger.

The specialist added that when choosing a nutrition system, it is important to ask yourself how long a person is able to adhere to it. If such a regime cannot be imagined as permanent, it is initially doomed to failure.

Speaking about fasting days, Makarova explained that attempts to perceive them as a universal solution harm the body. According to her, the formula for a sustainable result is simple and is based on regular healthy eating, adherence to a drinking regime, adequate sleep and physical activity — when this becomes the norm, stress from holidays or disruptions disappears.

Also on January 15, nutritionist coach Yuri Brabechan stated that dessert after the main meal can be part of a healthy diet, writes Pravda.Ru . According to him, the main thing is not to exceed the daily calorie allowance and not to replace a full meal with sweets, notes 360.ru .

Therapist, cardiologist Yaroslav Ashikhmin on January 14 called detox diets harmful after the holidays. According to him, intermittent fasting is also considered dangerous, which threatens problems with the gallbladder, writes RT.

At the same time, Medical Xpress magazine called strict diets a bad idea for long-term weight loss. Studies show that only about 20% of people who lose weight through dieting are able to keep the weight off in the long run. One of the reasons for the failures, scientists call strict food bans, for example, the rejection of favorite foods.

In December, nutritionist and nutritionist Anna Belousova told NSN that there is a juice diet, but it must be prescribed by a doctor. According to her, we are talking about only one or two fasting days.
