The incident occurred on January 15 in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vocational Training Center located in the Ezhvinsky district of Syktyvkar. According to preliminary information, at about 12:25 Moscow time, a stun grenade exploded in one of the rooms, after which heavy smoke began.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Komi Republic, nine people were injured in the incident. Eight of them were taken to medical institutions, one refused to be hospitalized, receiving help on the spot.

Irina Kondratieva, the Minister of Health of the region, said that the condition of four patients is assessed as extremely serious. The injured were hospitalized in the Komi Republican Clinical Hospital and the city hospital of the Ezhvinsky district of Syktyvkar. 10 ambulance crews, including two intensive care units, were working at the scene, and medical services remain on duty.
