The authorities of Western countries do not want the conflict in Ukraine to end and peace to be restored, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on January 15.

"In the West, they do not want the conflict to end, they do not want any peace, as they did not want, the facts of the uninterrupted operation of the airport in Rzeszow, Poland, testify," the diplomat said at a briefing.

She noted that since 2022, a stable military cargo flow has been passing through Rzeszow for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Thus, Europe's actions to pump up Kiev militarily and financially indicate intentions more eloquently than hypocritical words about the desire for peace. Zakharova recalled that on January 9, British Defense Minister John Healey visited Kiev to discuss support for Ukraine this year.

"In particular, in January it is planned to start production of Ukrainian Octopus interceptor drones at British factories and subsequently increase production to one thousand units per month. Is the West preparing for peace normally?" the diplomat stated.

Hero of Russia, Aviation Major General Sergei Lipovoy announced on January 13 that NATO aircraft was delivering a new batch of military aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Polish city of Rzeszow. He added that the new NATO supplies mean a catastrophic shortage of ammunition and military equipment for the Ukrainian army, as the Russian military successfully grinds the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine every day.

On the same day, Zakharova pointed out that the elites of the European Union and the United Kingdom perceive the settlement of the Ukrainian issue as a threat to themselves.
