- In Poland, they pointed to the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces using the back complicating the situation of Ukraine.
The new tactics of Russian troops using unmanned Sirius-82 boats in the Dnieper River delta may seriously complicate the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on January 15 by the Polish edition of Interia.
"Mining the Dnieper River may significantly complicate the actions of Ukrainian troops who are trying to carry out amphibious operations," the publication says.
According to the newspaper, citing sources, the Ukrainian units had not previously encountered such unmanned boats, and "no one has seen such drones yet."
Earlier, on November 14, 2025, the BI portal reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began using fiber-optic cable-controlled drones with a range of up to 50 km, which disrupted Ukrainian logistics.
Prior to that, on September 14, The New York Times reported that Russia had made the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) a top priority and had revolutionized this field. The publication also noted that the sharp increase in the production of UAVs, combined with new technologies and tactics, creates enormous difficulties for Ukraine.
