In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a man died due to snow falling on him from a roof.
A 60-year-old man died as a result of a snow mass falling on him from the roof of an apartment building. This was reported on January 15 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory.
"A snow mass descended on a 60-year-old man from the roof of a two—story apartment building on Sovetskaya Street in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky," the department said in a message on its Telegram channel.
It is specified that the man died on the spot from his injuries. A criminal case was opened into the incident under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Part 2, paragraph "b" ("Production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of works or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements"). The circumstances of the incident are being established.
Sergey Lebedev, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka Territory, urged residents to be more careful and pay attention to the absence of overhanging masses of snow on roofs when leaving the entrance, as well as to stay away from possible places where snow masses fall. His comment was published by the regional government's press service on the Telegram channel.
On January 13, the press service of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that a case had been opened into the fatal injury of two railway workers in the Moscow Region. It was clarified that two workers were injured by an electric train when they were removing snow from the tracks.
