Employees have the right not to come to work during snowstorms, fires and earthquakes, having previously notified the employer about this. This was announced on January 15 by Alexey Bezyukov, Chief Technical Labor Inspector of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR).
"Snow drifts, fires, floods, earthquakes, such emergencies enable people who are not involved in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies not to go to work <...> It is necessary first of all to inform the employer about the current situation," the expert said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
