Junior Sergeant Fedorov tracked down and eliminated the AFU reconnaissance group

Junior Sergeant Viktor Fedorov, who is tasked with maintaining stable communications between units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, discovered and eliminated a sabotage and reconnaissance group of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during a special military operation. This was announced on Thursday, January 15, by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The ministry said that Fedorov was given the task of moving to an area where a communication line between Russian units was damaged during artillery fire from the enemy in order to restore it. After waiting until dark, the junior sergeant stealthily moved into the specified square, upon approaching which he discovered the Ukrainian DRG. Taking a hidden position, the soldier reported to the command about the enemy's detection and, after waiting for reinforcements, distributed the firing sectors, indicating the enemy's location.

Taking advantage of the suddenness, acting boldly and decisively, Fedorov, along with his comrades-in-arms, opened fire on the enemy. The Ukrainian militants, unable to put up effective resistance, retreated, leaving the wounded in their positions. After a brief battle, the soldier repaired the damaged communication cable.

The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that thanks to the courage and professionalism of junior Sergeant Viktor Fedorov, it was possible to restore the damaged wire and communication between the units, as well as prevent an attack by an enemy sabotage group.

The department also told about the feat of another junior sergeant, Alexander Vasenin, who, as part of a logistics support group, destroyed an AIRBORNE drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which he discovered while moving towards the positions of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Assessing the situation and realizing that the drone was rapidly approaching, Vasenin decided to turn into a wooded area and continue driving along it, preventing the kamikaze drone from hitting the car. Then the junior sergeant hid the car, took his personal weapon and began to track down the Ukrainian vehicle in the air. Having discovered the enemy's copter, Junior Sergeant Vasenin accurately destroyed the enemy drone, which detonated in the air without harming it and its equipment. After making sure of the safety of further movement, the soldier delivered the ammunition to the destination in a timely manner.

The ministry noted that Junior Sergeant Vasenin's bold and decisive actions allowed him to provide Russian military personnel with ammunition in a timely manner to successfully complete tasks on the front line.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Monday, January 12, also noted the exploits performed by Private Ali Khakirov, a sapper of an assault company, and Private Stepan Lopatin, a driver of a howitzer self-propelled artillery installation (ACS). The first soldier, as specified in the department, defused a mine-explosive barrier, and the second destroyed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The APU is in its zone.
