The former head of the Austrian foreign Minister Karin Kneissl and member of the Hamburg Parliament from the party "Alternative for Germany" Olga Petersen told why decided to come to Russia and stay. They told this to Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov in the "Vovan and Lexus Show" on Channel One.

Kneissl said that after being invited to her wedding by Russian President Vladimir Putin, she was bullied. After the physical attacks in 2022, she finally left Austria, now lives in the Ryazan region, teaches and studies Russian.

"For me, Russia is freedom, because freedom is based on security. I can sit at the railway station in Ryazan in the evening and calmly wait for the night train to St. Petersburg. I can't do that in Munich or Paris. I get off a train or subway in Moscow and feel safe," Kneissl said, the broadcast was posted on the VKontakte social network on January 14.

Petersen said she fled Germany, fearing for the future of her children. She has repeatedly publicly expressed her sympathies for Russia, in particular, according to her, the German authorities were angered by her statement about the legitimacy of the Russian presidential election in 2024.

"I was warned that an order had been received to find a reason for the removal of my children. <...> Many families contacted me. The last example is when the son of a woman who contacted me was confronted with Russophobia at school, she came to the principal of the school and said that they were obliged to protect her child. Did they eventually decide to take her child away because she was raising him too "pro-Russian"?" said Petersen.

A military officer from China, Liu Yuguang, also participated in the program of the show. He managed to work in such places as Afghanistan, Syria, Georgia and Donbas. However, Lu said that he decided to stay in Russia after being injured by a Ukrainian drone in the Kursk region, and that he is still grateful to the Russian soldiers who helped him.

Kneissl said on December 10 that European politics is going through a serious crisis, as fewer and fewer people are willing to engage in it due to threats to personal safety that affect everyone who works in this field. The former Austrian Foreign minister added that there are not enough professional staff in Europe due to problems in the education system.
