During searches of the former mayor of Sochi, Alexei Kopaigorodsky, law enforcement officers found a cigar with his own photo. The security service also seized a collection of watches and a large amount of cash during searches of the mayor's apartment on January 14.

The cigar found is embossed in gold with the inscription "Kopaygorodsky". It also features an oval black-and-white portrait of the mayor.

Among the confiscated watches were copies of companies such as Breguet, Cartier and Patek Philippe Geneve. The cost of each model is more than 10 million rubles. It is noted that a large amount of cash was also seized from Kopaygorodsky. The photo shows about 80 bundles of five-thousand-dollar bills.

On the same day, the Prosecutor General's Office (GP) filed a lawsuit stating that the families of former Sochi mayor Alexei Kopaigorodsky had found diamonds and 50 real estate objects. According to the investigation, from 2022 to 2024, Kopaygorodsky stole two plots of land in Sochi with a total value of at least 26 million rubles. He is also accused of receiving 248 million rubles from business representatives for patronage and creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs.
