The Su-35S has destroyed more targets in aerial combat than any other type of fighter in the Russian Armed Forces. This was reported by Military Watch Magazine on January 14.

"The Su-35 places special emphasis on advanced air combat capabilities, unlike the much less expensive and more versatile Su-30SM2 <...> Therefore, it is invariably used for air operations against a wide range of theater targets," the publication says.

The magazine noted that one of the Ukrainian pilots called the Su-35 the main factor hindering the actions of Western-supplied F-16 aircraft.

"As a result, the Ukrainian pilots had to switch to low—altitude flights for the sake of the terrain's masking properties and the use of ground interference to avoid encounters with a more advanced Russian aircraft," MWM wrote.
