Dealers have warned about the rise in price of new cars in Russia since January

Prices for new passenger cars in Russia have increased by an average of 1.5–3% since January 2026. This was reported on January 14 by Kommersant with reference to the dealers interviewed.

Representatives of the Russian Automobile Dealers Association, car prices increased by 2-3%. Andrey Terlyukevich, General Director of Avtospeccenter Group, estimated the growth at 1.5–2.5%, and Nikolay Ivanov, director of the Rolf New Car Sales department, estimated it at 2%. According to Ilya Petrov, Director of retail Sales at Avilon AG, some models and accessories have increased in price by 3-4%.

According to market participants, cars in the mass segment have risen in price by 40-70 thousand rubles, while premium models can increase up to 300 thousand rubles. Evgeny Zhitnukhin, the operating director of the Fresh automotive marketplace, pointed out that since January 1, prices have been raised by almost all brands officially present on the Russian car market.

The interlocutors of the publication predict that in the first quarter of 2026, new passenger cars in Russia will continue to rise in price, adding an average of 5-10%.

Earlier in the day, the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that the price increase for Lada cars in recent years has lagged behind the inflation rate. At the beginning of 2026, the indexation was about 0.5%.
