This was announced on January 14 by two-time Stanley Cup winner and Olympic hockey champion in the Czech national team Dominik Hasek, commenting on the cancellation of 17,000 tickets for the FIFA World Cup in the United States.

"This (cancellation of 17 thousand tickets for the World Cup. — Ed.) not enough! A country where democracy is withering and violence and repression are rampant <...> should not host the World Cup or the Olympic Games," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
