UAZ will start selling diesel "Pros" in the summer of 2026
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) plans to launch sales of Profi 4x4 and Profi Polutorka cars with a new power unit closer to the third quarter of 2026. This was reported to Izvestia on January 14 by the company's press service. Commercial family cars will receive a two-liter diesel engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.
"The official start of sales of this modification is scheduled for the beginning of the third quarter of this year — the UAZ Profi 4x4 and Polutorka in the updated version will appear on the market after the restyled Patriot and Pickup trucks," the company's press service shared.
UAZ also commented on recent media reports that diesel modifications have already gone on sale. According to representatives of the automobile plant, a pilot batch of UAZ Profi Polutorka with a new power unit really came off the assembly line six months ago, but the cars were intended for trial customer trips at the brand's dealerships. In the spring, this model was certified and received Vehicle Type Approval (OTT).
"The Profi diesel-powered cars from this trial batch put up for sale by some dealers. Such versions did not go on mass sale — due to the market situation, it was decided to postpone the launch of the model to 2026. Official prices for cars with a turbodiesel and a six—speed manual transmission will be announced closer to the start of sales," the UAZ press service emphasized.
Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in December explained the postponement of the launch of the restyled Patriot SUV. This is due to the fact that the company plans to introduce an update for the entire line of cars built on its basis (we are talking about the Pickup Truck and the commercial Pro).
